The German stopper's not having his best season but he is not for sale

Barcelona have communicated to Marc-Andre ter Stegen that he's not for sale. Even though the club's financial and supporting situation is far from ideal, both the sporting directorate and coach Xavi Hernandez believe the German goalkeeper remains key to getting the team back on track.

Ter Stegen has a contract until 2025 and, while he's not been performing as well as other seasons (like the majority of the squad), his case is different as he's had injuries. He's still recovering his competitive rhythm after undertaking an intervention on a knee problem in the summer.

Barça's early Champions League exit has multiplied the speculation around many players. In different to previous occasions, names like Ter Stegen and Frenkie de Jong have also been included this time in regards to possible exits.

In terms of Ter Stegen, a possible sale has been suggested, with Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana linked as a replacement, even though he's set to join Inter on a free transfer in the summer.

However, SPORT have learned that Barça are not considering selling the German stopper. What's more, they consider him one of the few players not for sale, along with Araujo, Gavi, Nico, Pedri and Ansu, among others.

The club and the coach have complete confidence in him.
