Barcelona have five days to register seven players

The Catalan club have bought well in the transfer market but need to get these players on the level

La Liga starting is just around the corner. Rayo Vallecano visit Camp Nou on Saturday night in a game which is exciting at Barcelona. Xavi’s side have ad a great pre-season and thrashed Pumas 6-0 on Sunday. They are ready to dream. However there is one issue: the new signings haven’t been registered yet, nor those who have renewed their deals.

With just five days left to sort it out, the club are working against the clock to register these players. Lewandowski, Christensen, Kessie, Kounde, Raphinha, Dembele and Sergi Roberto. Many will be key players.

We reported a few days ago that La Liga had rejected Barcelona’s initial proposal over the money they have raised to register the players. So the club is looking for other solutions. Firstly, salary reductions.

Frenkie de Jong’s case is the clearest. The money he is set to earn is too much for Barcelona to pay. The club have been working on two options: leave or pay-cut. For now, the matter is still stuck. The other two pay cuts are for Pique and Sergio Busquets.

Then there are the departures: Braithwaite and Memphis are the most urgent. The Dane is sticking his heels in. Other names who could leave on loan are Nico and Balde.

Barcelona want Bernardo Silva but first, have to register the players they have. Marcos Alonso’s deal has been agreed and he’s on stand-by.
