Barcelona have failed to win in seven league games away from Camp Nou

They have already seen 18 of a possible 33 points disappear in La Liga

Barcelona's title dreams could be ruined by their poor away form. The Spanish champions are struggling away from Camp Nou and their latest defeat on the road, at Valencia on Saturday, could see them replaced at the top of La Liga.

If Real Madrid are able to get at least a point against Real Valladolid on Sunday, Zinedine Zidane's side will move into first place.

With the loss at Mestalla this weekend, Barça have now dropped 18 points away from home in the league. They have lost four times and drawn three. The statistics are alarming for a team that has won the last two titles and remains so strong at home, winning nine games and drawing one, against Real Madrid.

La Liga started poorly. Barça lost at Athletic Bilbao in their first game of season. They have also been beaten at Granada, Levante and and now Valencia. Meanwhile, they have been held by Osasuna, Real Sociedad and Espanyol.

Their form this season is in stark contrast to other campaigns. FC Barcelona won La Liga last season by losing just three games, while in 2017-18, they lost just once, against Levante in the penultimate game of the season when the title was already won.
