Barcelona forward Ansu Fati to make surgery decision on Monday

The youngster is not keen but the club assure him it's the best option

On Monday, a decision will be made which will affect Barcelona's near future. Ansu Fati must decide if he undergoes surgery on a hamstring injury or opts for more conservative treatment. Depending on the decision he takes, he could miss the rest of the season or he could reappear within two months.

Ansu's situation is of concern to the club because he obtained a serious tendon injury in the left hamstring during Thursday's Copa del Rey defeat to Athletic Club. It's the third big injury he's sustained since being promoted to the first team and they don't want to make any mistakes that could compromise the player's future.

There was a meeting on Saturday. Coach Xavi Hernandez and Dr. Ricard Pruna were present along with Ansu and members of his support circle. Barça transmitted that surgery would be the best option, but Ansu is reluctant because of the bad experience last time he had an operation -- four months out ended up being 11.

All parties explained their view and agreed to meet again on Monday, when Ansu will make a final decision on surgery.
