Barcelona focused on urgent job of renewing Iker Cordoba deal
The young defender is highly promising but out of contract in June and big clubs want him
At Juvenil B Barcelona have one of the centre-backs with the best potential at the youth academy. It’s Iker Cordoba. At 16, he has various offers on the table from half of Europe. It’s not strange that with his contract expiring in June and his growth as a footballer, Bayern, Dortmund, Rome and AC Milan are interested. The club are conscious of this and want to keep a player who could reach the first ream.
They have met with his agents and made an offer to renew. Despite the good intentions from both sides, there was no agreement because the offers from European clubs are much bigger.
Iker Cordoba would prioritise staying at Barcelona and the club want that to be the case too. The problem is they are racing against the clock and they have little more than two months to get it sorted.
