The midfielder got the injury in Thursday's loss to Frankfurt

Bad news comes in batches. Beyond the painful elimination to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League, FC Barcelona also lost Pedri to injury against the German side.

The midfielder came off at halftime with a thigh injury and, pending further tests, there is a chance he misses the rest of the season. Barça are concerned.

Pedri will have a scan on Friday to determine the extent of the problem but the first assessment is not positive. He could be out for six to eight weeks.

Barça only have eight games left in LaLiga, with their final match coming at home to Villarreal on May 21 or 22 -- date to be confirmed. Therefore, the Spain international is unlikely to play again this season.

When he's been fit, he's been brilliant this season, but the reality is Pedri's campaign has been heavily affected by injury problems. He has already missed 24 games through injury in his second term at the club.
