Real Madrid as champions earned a whopping 88 million euros, ahead of Liverpool on 81

UEFA spaid out more than 1.412 billion euros among the Champions League clubs, with Real Madrid top of the list, getting an 88.6 million euro handout. Liverpool as runners up to Los Blancos, picked up 81.2.

Meanwhile Barcelona, eliminated in the quarter-finals, got 57.4 million euros. 

Atletico, who finished third in Group C and went into the Europa league, took 31.7m euros, while Sevilla earned 48.4m after they got to the quarters.

UEFA say each club is guaranteed a minimum of 12.7m euros for participating in the group phase, with each win worth 1.5m euros and each draw 0.5m.

The remaining 500k after a draw gets redistributed among all clubs who participated in the group phase depending on the number of wins they had.

For reaching the last 16 each team gets 6m euros, 6.5m for the quarter-finals and 7.5m for the semis. Liverpool received 11m for finishing second and Madrid 15.5 as winner.
