Barcelona depend on themselves once again in La Liga title race

Barcelona's weekend got even better on Sunday when, after winning the Copa del Rey on Saturday, they saw title rivals Real Madrid held by Getafe.

If Barça win all eight of their remaining games, therefore, they will win La Liga. Their fate is in their own hands once again.

Atletico, who beat Eibar 5-0, are top with 70 points, followed by Real Madrid, who have 67 points. Barça have 65 and a game in hand on them both and also have to play Atletico at Camp Nou.

Next up for Diego Simeone's league leaders is Huesca at home followed by Athletic (at San Mamés), Elche (at the Martínez Valero), Barça (at Camp Nou), Real Sociedad (at home), Osasuna (at home) and Valladolid (at the Zorrilla).

As for Madrid, who also have a Champions League semifinal coming up against Chelsea, they visit Cadiz on Wednesday and have to play Real Betis, Osasuna and Sevilla at home as well as travelling to Granada and Bilbao before ending at home against Villarreal.

Zidane's side are currently being pushed to the limit with injuries.

Barça, finally, host Getafe on Thursday before travelling to Villarreal on Sunday. They then play Granada at home, Valencia, away, Atletico at home, Levante away, Celta Vigo at home and then Eibar away.
