Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti is set to travel to Lecce on Tuesday to finalise his loan move to the Italian side.
Barça will not free up any salary space with the departure of Umtiti but they will receive compensation for each game he plays for the Serie A team.
The operation, as explained by Lecce president Saverio Sticchi Damiani, is still not closed. There are still final details to sort and Umtiti must pass a medical.
The Frenchman, who has had knee problems since 2018, must show that he is ready to compete at the top level again.
In principle, the plan is for him to travel to Italy on Tuesday. He has permission from Barça to miss training and push through a move away from the club.
