Araujo picked up his fifth booking of the season in the win over Villarreal
Bad news for Xavi Hernández. Barcelona will lose one of their defensive stalwarts, Ronald Araujo, for the next match day.
The Uruguayan international was shown a yellow card in the 43rd minute for a handball that, despite being unintentional, cut off a Villarreal attack in the match being played at La Cerámica.
Referee Hernández Hernández did not hesitate to show the yellow card to Araujo in a melee with Chukwueze in which, unintentionally and after control of the home player, the ball hit his right hand. The referee pointed for the foul and booked the Blaugrana defender.
It was the fifth yellow card the centre-back has seen so far in the LaLiga season, meaning he will be forced to rest against Cádiz next week, a game that will be played at Camp Nou next Sunday at 9pm.
