Barcelona defender Gerard Pique: "Draw vs. Cadiz is a big setback"

Pique didn't hide his disappointment as Barça were held at Camp Nou on Sunday

Gerard Pique was disappointed as Barcelona dropped points against Cadiz in La Liga on Sunday, held to a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi gave Barça the lead from the penalty spot but missed chances and a late spot kick from Alex Fernandez saw Barça drop two points in the title race.

"It really hurts because with Atletico's defeat on Saturday we had a chance to put ourselves back in there," Pique said. "Cadiz made it tough, closing up at the back, but we created a lot, with two goals ruled out and several chances.

"They had one clear chance in the first half, nothing else. But a penalty in the last minut has cost us two points and it's difficult to take. Coming from where we came from this week, it was important to get the three points to close the gap on the top, but there's still a long way to go."

"Every game you don't win, your chances (of winning the league) reduce a little. But it's long. The gap's big, but not out of reach. It will depend on our next games. We depend more on ourselves than others. If we go on a good run, playing well, we will have a chance.

"Of course it's difficult, but we have to try. This is a blow, especially where we're coming from. It's time to pick ourselves up. On Wednesday we have another test against Elche and we have to get three points. We didn't expect today."
