Lionel Messi's move to Paris Saint-Germain has generated a lot of interest in France and Spain. And a lot of companies want a piece of the pie.
One of them is Kosmos Holding, the company owned by Barcelona defender Gerard Pique. According to 2Playbook, they have bought the rights to the French league in Spain in collaboration with Enjoy TV for the next three years.
The main objective: to capitalise on the 'Messi effect' until 2024. According to the same report, which hasn't mentioned the figures involved, Movistar, the previous rights holders, were paying less than 2.5 million euros annually.

It's not the first time Pique has invested in an initiative like this. In the summer he bought the rights to the Copa America final and his company Kosmos also onw the Serie B rights in several countries.
In France, the rights for the first and second division of French football have been bought by Amazon as part of an agreement until 2024.
