Espanyol bounced back at the first time of asking after being relegated last season
Barcelona have congratulated RCD Espanyol on their promotion with the Catalan derby back on the cards in La Liga next season.
Espanyol were relegated last season but have bounced back at the first time of asking, with their return to the top flight confirmed this weekend.
A goalless draw with Real Zaragoza on Saturday was enough to seal their return to the Primera and they now have four games and a six-point lead over Mallorca to seal the title.
"Congratulations @RCDEspanyol for securing promotion," Barça wrote on social media. "We will see you next season in La Liga."
