Barcelona confirm injury to left-back Lucas Digne

The defender injured his hamstring in the win against Villarreal

Lucas had been a surprise inclusion in the side ahead of Jordi Alba

FC Barcelona have confirmed that French defender Lucas Digne was taken off during the 4-1 win over Villarreal with a hamstring problem.

Digne underwent tests at the training ground on Sunday, although Barça have not revealed how long he will be out of action for.

A statement read: "Lucas Digne was replaced by Jordi Alba in the 75th minute against Villareal when the result was 3-1. Tests done on Sunday have confirmed that he has an overload in the biceps femoris [hamstring] of the right leg. His evolution will mark his availability."

Luis Enrique has been expected to name his Gala XI against Villarreal, but caught everyone by surprise by including Digne instead of Alba.

Barça have just two league games to play -- against Las Palmas and Eibar -- and need a Real Madrid slip up if they are to win the title.

They also still have the Copa del Rey final to come, at the end of May against Alaves at Atletico Madrid's Vicente Calderon stadium.
