The Barça boss wanted the Dutchman to remain in his position as sporting director

Jordi Cruyff will not remain at FC Barcelona after 30 June. The sporting director had to decide whether he would continue to lead Barça's sporting management, whether he would do so by exercising the responsibility that Mateu Alemany had or whether, on the contrary, he would step aside and leave the club.

There were many voices in the club that were insistently asking him to stay in the position. From the offices, with president Joan Laporta at the head, to the bench, where Xavi Hernández is one of his greatest defenders. The professional relationship they have maintained during the time they have been working together is excellent and the results are there to be seen.

During Monday's bus parade to celebrate the LaLiga title, Xavi didn't want to miss the opportunity to ask him publicly and loudly to stay on.

He did so, accompanied by his coaching staff, by repeatedly chanting "Jordi, stay!" which practically made the sporting director blush.

Cruyff received the affection of the people closest to him, with whom he is leading a sporting project that is slowly but surely restoring the enthusiasm of Barcelona fans, something that, despite everything, has not been enough.
