Barcelona closer to cashing in with Ilaix Moriba poised to join Ajax

The midfielder will bring the Catalans in around 2.2 million euros if the deal goes through

Ilaix Moriba’s signing for Ajax will be official in the coming days. The midfielder replaces Ryan Gravenberch who is joining Bayern Munich, and his arrival was requested bu Alfred Schreuder, who knows Ilaix well having been Koeman’s assistant at Barcelona.  

The Dutch coach thinks the midfielder can bring a lot to his new project in the Netherlands. He was important at Barcelona but decide to leave for Leipzig, where he struggled and was loaned to Valencia. 

Barcelona have 10 per cent of the sale due to them. Per De Telegraaf, Ilaix will cost 22 million so Barcelona will rake in 2.2 million of that when the deal is done.

This season Ilaix, 19, has played 24 games. Six for Leipzig and 18 with Valencia. At Mestalla he played 1100 minutes while in Germany, only 100.
