Demir will remain with Kayserispor before joining Barça at the end of the season

Barcelona have finally completed the signing of the young Turkish midfielder Emre Demir from Kayserispor.

Barça have been tracking the teenager for months and have now reached an agreement to bring him to Camp Nou, with president Joan Laporta personally carrying out the negotiations to see off competition from several big clubs.

Demir, an attacking midfielder, made his debut with his current club when he was just 15 in 2019-20. He is currently 17 but it will not be until the end of the season, when he's 18, when he joins Barça.

The Catalan club will pay an initial four million euros for him, plus potential add-ons, and the plan is for him to slot into the B team next season.

The plan is that he will remain with Kayserispor for the current campaign, competing in the top flight in Turkey.
