The Catalans want to bring in a top striker in the summer and the Polish forward is their hope

Robert Lewandowski has become a real objective for Barcelona in attack. The Polish striker is not easy to bring in but the club are optimistic he will come under favourable economic conditions.

Barcelona have maintained two meetings with Pino Zahavi, his agent, although contact is constant and the club are aware of everything.

The main worry is if Bayern come back in with a high contract renewal offer, which could change the state of play. Lewandowski, for his part, is looking forward to playing at Camp Nou.

Zahavi and Laporta have a good relationship, which could be key at getting him at a good price. Erling Haaland is not affordable most likely, but the club are waiting to see what he says to their offer before moving full steam ahead for Lewandowski.

Zahavi alerted Barcelona to the difficulties Bayern had with renewing his deal, which expires in 2023.

The striker wants a contract of at least three years, believing he can stay at the top level despite his age - 34. He is attracted to Spain, with Real Madrid heavily linked in the past, but Bayern were able to keep him.

Barcelona calculate a possible operation between fee and salary could be around 100 million euros, a not unreasonable price for a top level player.
