Barcelona are ready to go to war with Braithwaite to force departure

The Danish striker has not taken up any of the offers he's had this summer

With Martin Braithwaite still at Barcelona, the club are beginning to realise there will be no negotiations about a possible exit and they are going to end up losing money due to the player and his agent's uncompromising posture.

The Danish striker has refused to speak about leaving and wants to stay, so there will be no other option than to rescind his contract, although the club are considering going to war to save their interests.

Barça's plan was to transfer Braithwaite or to at least loan him out because there were some interesting options on the market. But he has preferred to dismiss all the possible operations.

As his salary is not that high, Barça offered him, like Umtiti, Neto and Mingueza, the chance to leave for free. Some took that offer up but Braithwaite has not yet.

His attitude has not gone down well at the club. They made an effort to sign him and had patience with him during his injury when he rejected offers in January to stay at Barcelona to focus on recovering well.

It is likely the club wait until the end of the window and end up rescinding his contract unilaterally unless he finally decides to accept the offer to leave for free.

Barça are also exploring if they have legal options to not pay the remaining two years on his contract, which runs until 2024.
