Barcelona 7-0 Hercules (8-1 agg): Arda drunk on goals in Copa del Rey clash

No MSN, no Pique, no problems. Barcelona romped to victory over Hercules in the Copa del Rey, making amends for their disappointing 1-1 draw in the first leg with a full-on hammering here, hitting some targets in the process.

Lucas Digne opened the scoring, becoming the first Barcelona summer signing to find the net this season, before Paco Alcacer got his long awaited first goal for the club in the second half.

Arda Turan scored a hat-trick, Rafinha was also on target, while Ivan Rakitic netted a penalty too.

There was no doubt Barcelona would win the tie but it took 37 minutes to break the deadlock, Digne reacting sharply in the box to control a loose ball and flick it home.

Rakitic grabbed No 2 when Arda was felled in the area, before Rafinha rifled home the third from distance.

Aleix Vidal’s superb cross let the Turk head home his first goal shortly after, while Alcacer nodded home from close range himself after a cross was deflected his way.

Two more Arda strikes, the second a swerving effort into the top corner, sealed the victory to end 2016 on a sweet note for Barcelona.
