Barça endured a difficult evening against Celta but held on to win 1-0 at Camp Nou

Pedri's goal was enough to move Barcelona back to the top of LaLiga as they beat Celta Vigo 1-0 on Sunday.

Pedri opened the scoring in a dominant first half but Barca dipped after the break and were holding on at the end, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen in fine form.

The win saw Barca leapfrog Real Madrid going into next Sunday's Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu, although they're only ahead on goal difference.

With injuries mounting in defence, Xavi was forced to play three left-backs in his back four on Sunday but Barça still controlled the first half.

Raphinha came close from 30 yards and Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres also saw chances saved.

The deadlock finally came when Gavi's cross was only cleared into the path of Pedri and the midfielder rolled home from close range.

Celta improved after the break and came close to an equaliser, with Oscar curling a good chance wide early in the second half.

Marcos Alonso needed to make one outstanding block and Ter Stegen made a stunning save from Iago Aspas, among others.

Celta pushed for an equaliser until the last of six minutes of stoppage time but Barça held on to make it seven wins from eight in LaLiga this season.
