The 16-year-old Racing de Avellaneda forward is a target for many European teams
He's not well known in Europe but he's a sensation in Argentina. We're talking about Gonzalo Sosa, the latest star to emerge in South American football. His talent has drawn interest from a number of top-level clubs, including FC Barcelona.
According to Diario AS, Barça have sent scouts to Argentina to follow the youngster's performances first hand. He's an attacking midfielder/forward who plays for Racing de Avellaneda and is only 16 years old. A move to Europe is expected sooner than later.
Barça are in the hunt, as are Real Madrid, who were one of the first clubs to show an interest in the player. According to AS, they have been tracking him since Santiago Solari worked in the club.
Solari left at the end of 2020 but Madrid have continued to follow the Argentine, albeit without taking any firm steps forward, which has allowed Barça to move in.
AC Milan have also been following Sosa closely. With money tight during the coronavirus pandemic, finding the top young talent has become a priority for many clubs.
