Bori Fati's comments have been a big talking point in Catalonia this week

Xavi Hernández has come out to clarify the controversy surrounding Ansu Fati's future. The Barcelona coach wanted to calm things down with the situation in a press conference after the controversy over his father's words. "He is calm and focused. I only care about him, not his father or his entourage. I have also lived through similar situations, he is suffering for his son and I understand him", Xavi said.

Asked about Ansu's lack of minutes, Xavi pointed out the high competitiveness in the team and the difficulty to get into the XI.

"He is a great person and he knows what he is saying. I watch him train and I see him very well," he said.

The youngster has been included in the squad for the away game against Elche and could return to the starting line-up.

"I have confidence and total faith in Ansu. I've spoken to him a lot and I've met him many times, as I have with many other players. I'm the first one who wants him to succeed," added Xavi.

On the other hand, Rafa Yuste, the club's sporting vice-president, confessed today at a press conference to present the 10th edition of the 'Barça Academy World Cup' that "I can't guarantee 100% that Ansu will continue because it doesn't depend on me."

Mendes pressing Barça

The reality is that Ansu's situation is a delicate issue for Joan Laporta and his board of directors. However, Jorge Mendes is clear that it is time to let Ansu go and not wait any longer so that he does not devalue himself if he continues to lack minutes.

The Portuguese agent will travel to Barcelona to meet with the player and try to convince him to play a leading role in another sporting project, although the key to everything will ultimately be the price.
