Barça's Sergi Roberto reveals he's struggling physically and mentally

The midfielder has had a torrid time with injuries this season

Versatile Barcelona player Sergi Roberto has confessed on social media that he's going through a "difficult moment, physically and mentally." Roberto has spent the majority of the season fighting injuries and is now injured again, while his last performance, in the 3-3 draw with Levante on Tuesday, was not especially positive.

"When things go badly, you have to pick yourself up and do everything you can to change it," Roberto wrote. "I am going through some difficult moments, physically and mentally, but I am convinced that the good times will come, with hard work and positivity as I have always shown. I want to get back to enjoying what I most like doing and above all be 100 percent fit. Thanks for all the messages of support."

Roberto, 29, got injured against Levante in the second half. He had only come on at the break for Ronald Araujo, but had to be replaced by Riqui Puig in the 85th minute due to a thigh problem.

He's suffered more injuries than ever this season, the worst thing of all being that many of them have been relapses. In La Liga, he's only been able to play 15 games; three in the Champions League and two more on the Copa del Rey. He didn't feature in the Spanish Super Cup.
