The Croatian midfielder has spoken honestly on 'Universo Valdano'

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has opened up on the show 'Universo Valdano' about his current situation at the Catalan club.

The Croatian has started just once this season after five seasons of being a regular and has explained that he's not happy with the situation in an interview which will be broadcast on Thursday.

In an advance, he said: "How can I enjoy myself? Playing football. Playing football. How does my youngest daughter feel if I take her toy from her? She's sad. I feel the same: they have taken the ball from me and I am sad."

Rakitic added that he has no problem expressing his feelings: "I like it. When you have to cry, no problem, and when you have to celebrate, I'm the first."

He continued: "I understand and respect the decisions made by the coach (Ernesto Valverde) and the club, but I think I've given a lot in the last five and a bit years here and the only thing I want is to be able to keep enjoying myself. That's the most important thing for me."

Rakitic reiterated that the only way to enjoy himself is "playing" and said that "I am 31 years old, not 38, and I feel in my best moment."

The former Sevilla man was close to leaving in the summer, with interest from Italy, including Juventus and Inter Milan, but nothing came of it in the end and he remained at Camp Nou.
