Bayern and Gladbach have been linked with a loan move for the talented teen

Pedri's interview with SPORT in his hometown, Tegueste (Tenerife), has had repercussions across Europe, especially in Germany, where there's interest in the talented midfielder.

The Barcelona youngster, who has joined the club from Las Palmas in a deal worth an initial €5 million, has been linked with loan moves to Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayern Múnich.

Pedri admitted to SPORT that there have been offers. "The main thing is to play," he said. "There have been some interesting proposals from top-level clubs in Germany.

"They're insisting on me and Barça are aware of (the interest). These clubs believe I could be an important player there while gaining experience."

Throughout Sunday and Monday, a number of German media outlets picked up the quotes from Pedri about a possible move to the Bundesliga.

Barça will decide what the best path is for Pedri, 17, this summer. The options are to play with the first team or to go out on loan, be that in Germany, Spain or elsewhere.

One option that is off the table is Barça B, following their failure to secure promotion back into the second tier or Spanish football.
