Barca's objective: Make three more signings this summer

The club need to get rid of players first to register the four they have plus Messi

It won’t be easy. But Barca’s sporting directors are working with the objective of signing three more players before the end of August. The club understands that there is a need to bring in a box to box midfielder, a forward and a left-back or centre-back.

The priority is to reduce the wage bill first and get the already signed players registered.

Ronald Koeman and the staff know now is not the moment to talk signings with the exits more important for now.

However, work is happening on potential new incomings, who should arrive at zero cost, on loan, or as player exchanges.

Saul Niguez was the midfield target as part of a trade with Atletico Madrid for Antoine Griezmann.

Saul will have to lower his salary demands for Barca to bring him in. He’s leaving, whatever happens, but Premier League clubs might take him instead.

The sporting directors think Barca need a new good centre-back, but Koeman would prefer a left-back. They are looking at options who can come for free.
