The youngster took a heavy knock on his hip and is all but certain to miss the first friendly against Chelsea

Japanese fans will probably have to wait until Saturday to get a glimpse of Hiroki Abe playing for FC Barcelona. The youngster wasn't able to train alongside his new teammates in Tokyo after taking a heavy knock to his hip in training. He isn't expected to feature against Chelsea in the Rakuten Cup opener.

This isn't a fresh injury either as Abe had complained about discomfort last week. Today he trained alone as he looks to get back to full fitness as soon as possible.

If Abe doesn't make it back in time for Chelsea, he should be available for the clash against Vissel Kobe on Saturday. The youngster, who might be a relative unknown in Europe, is adored by the local fans. With Take Kubo also moving to LaLiga, he recently signed for Real Madrid, expect more eyes from Japan to be glued on Spanish football next season.
