Barça's dressing room see themselves as favourites in Europe

The Catalans are confident and starting to believe in themselves once again

Although Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez wants prudence, humility and calm after the big win at Napoli, the truth is the players are hugely optimistic and the players believe they are among the favourites to win the Europa League.

They visit Galatasaray in the last 16, facing off against Domenec Torrent, Inaki Pena and Arda Turan, a team that is not going through a good moment and are 13th in the Turkish league. Barcelona are favourites to reach the quarters.

The group is reinforced by recent games, adding good results to good performances, with a style of play greatly improved since Xavi arrived.

The winter window signings are working and the squad is more competitive. Since Adama and Aubameyang arrived, Barcelona have gained in attack greatly. Four goals against Atletico, four at Mestalla and four at the Maradona Stadium.

The team are aiming to win the tournament, which would also see them qualify for the Champions League as a top seed and put them in the European Super Cup final.

Jordi Alba, Frenkie de Jong, Pique and Pedri are finding their top form, and there aren’t any teams in the last 16 that seem better than Barcelona. Napoli, who are fighting for Serie A, were comfortably eliminated, giving Barcelona their confidence back. They also did something they have struggled with in recent years, going away in Europe to a historic place and earning a big victory.
