The Chilean opened the scoring on Saturday against Real Valladolid
Arturo Vidal scored the opening goal of the game on Saturday to give Barcelona the lead against Real Valladolid in La Liga.
Vidal broke the deadlock after exchanging passes with Messi, who laid on the goal for his 20th assist in the league this season to go with his 22 goals.
There was little former Barça goalkeeper Jordi Masip could do to stop Vidal's shot, which was thumped into the bottom corner.
The Chilean international now has eight goals in La Liga this season and, according to Opta, is the most efficient goal scorer in Spain's top flight.
Of players that have had at least 20 shots throughout the course of the season, none have a better success rate than Vidal, who has converted 34.8 percent of his chances.
