Ansu Fati will not be available for Barcelona's trip to Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday despite being named in the squad for the match.

Ansu, 18, had to come off in the Clasico with a knee injury and Barca have decided not to risk him against Rayo in the end.

"The first team player Ansu Fati has pain in his right knee," Barca confirmed in a statement.

"He is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return."

Remember that the knee injury that ruled him out for 10 months was in his other knee, the left one.

Ansu returned following almost a year out in September, scoring against Levante in his first game back.

The Spain international also scored against Valencia last weekend.

Last week, he signed a new contract until 2027 with a €1 billion release clause.
