The forward had a bad experience last season when being operated on

Ansu Fati still has doubts. After Monday's meeting at Barcelona's training ground, the player's asked for more time to decide if he opts for treatment of surgery to recover from the hamstring injury he sustained against Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey.

The meeting took place in the afternoon and lasted just over an hour. Present was Ansum his father, his brother, his agent, members of the coaching staff, the medical team and also the vice president, Rafa Yuste.

In the meeting, the medical team once again recommended that the player has an operation. He would miss the rest of the season but would be fine for the start of next season. He would be starting from zero, with a plan to strengthen the muscle and the area around it to make sure these injuries don't happen again.

Ansu would be seen by a Finnish doctor, Lasse Lampainen, the same one who operated on Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto.

However, the player's bad experience with surgery last season has led to doubts. They said he would be back in four months but he ended up spending almost one year on the sidelines.

If he opts for conservative treatment, he's been told he could be back in two months, but with a relapse risk. After the meeting, he went home with his family to reflect and make a definitive decision in the coming hours.
