Barça working against the clock to have Kounde registered for Anoeta

The defender is not yet eligible to face Real Sociedad this weekend

Barcelona are doing all they can so that Xavi Hernandez will have Jules Kounde available for Sunday's game at Anoeta against Real Sociedad.

Barça have given the green light for Memphis Depay to join Juventus and the Dutch striker is finalising an agreement with the Italian side.

It is still not done, but Barça hope it will be completed imminently and that the salary space will be enough to register Kounde. It was that or reduce Gerard Pique's salary -- although talks seem to have frozen in that regard.

Koundé, aún sin inscribir

Negotiations for Memphis to leave accelerated on Saturday and Barça have everything ready with Juve and the player, who will receive a payoff.

The Blaugrana hope that it could even be official late on Saturday, but the final contract details between Memphis and Juve are taking longer than expected to close.

The deal is not in danger but Barça hope it can be done soon enough and create enough space to register Kounde.

Xavi has delayed announcing the squad for Sunday's game pending the Kounde situation and there is optimism at the club even though they are working against the clock.

Memphis, though, now looks unlikely to play at Real Sociedad as he has one foot in Juve and no risks will be taken. He could soon be on a plane to Italy for a medical.
