Trincao has refound his confidence back in his homeland

Francisco Trincao seems to have recovered his confidence back in his homeland with Sporting Lisbon. His first two games have served to show that he has recaptured the form that persuaded Barcelona to sign him. One of the keys, according to reports in Portugal, is the role played by coach Ruben Amorim.

"He knows him very well from their time at Braga," says the journalist Sergio Andre of the newspaper O Jogo. "Trincao knows that he's a regular and will play how he likes. We are seeing it. He's playing wide on the right, but with the freedom of the attack. He has a lot of football, he just lacked that confidence."

The same paper highlighted his statistics from Saturday's game with Sporting. Above all, his involvement in the play. Trincao gave 35 passes and five of them ended up with his teammates having shots -- one was a goal.

Trincao has started both games this season and admits himself he's feeling good: "I am starting to feel more and more confident with the coach's ideas. I am here to give my all for Sporting in every game."

Trincao, 22, needed to feel important after two irregular years, first at Barça and then on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

He joined Sporting on loan in the summer, with the Portuguese club paying €3m for the loan and with an option to make the deal permanent for €7m next year. Barça could then rebuy the winger for between €20-25m.
