The Dutch company TP Vision is linking up with the Catalan giants

FC Barcelona announced Wednesday a "multi-year" sponsorship agreement with TP Vision, the company responsible for the design, manufacture and sales of Philips TV, Philips Sound and AOC Audio products. The club becomes the main partner for TV, screen and audio devices in a commercial pact that will highlight Ambilight TV technology, which will appear on the sleeve of the men's team's shirt from next weekend's game against Mallorca.

In addition, Ambilight TV will also be prominently displayed inside the Spotify Camp Nou, which will be provided with audiovisual infrastructure when the refurbishment is completed and it becomes one of the largest and most innovative stadiums in the world. According to SPORT, the agreement between Barça and TP Vision will be for five years (3+2) and the Catalan club will earn more and more money. The first year, 8 million; the second, 10; the third and fourth, 12; and the fifth, 14. The last two, as we have said, will be optional. Good financial news ahead of a summer in which Barcelona's sporting management will once again have to juggle to strengthen the squad.

"The collaboration is part of the strategy of both organisations to proactively seek partners who share the same values and philosophy and who can combine to enhance the reputation of the club and the company as the best in their respective fields. TP Vision and FC Barcelona share a vision of taking sporting events beyond the ordinary, creating an exceptional spectacle for fans wherever they are. FC Barcelona prides itself on being 'More than a club', while TP Vision offers Ambilight TV as 'More than a TV' for the consumer," the two institutions announced in a statement.

Commercial strategy

Juli Guiu, Barça's vice-president of marketing, welcomed the fact that the club has partnered "with a world leader in the field of electronics and audiovisual technology". "We are taking a giant step forward in our commercial strategy with a multinational company that, thanks to its innovative 'Ambilight TV', has turned the experience of a match into a captivating and extremely satisfying journey for the millions of fans who follow football from home," he said.

Ambilight, which is a combination of the words 'ambience' and 'light', is a backlighting system introduced by Philips for its line of flat panel plasma, LCD, OLED and OLED+ TVs. Ambilight serves to extend, by means of LED lights arranged on the sides of the TV, the colours of the image, achieving a more immersive effect.
