The midfielder's current terms at Camp Nou expire in 2023

Barcelona midfielder Gavi's camp will meet with the club again on Monday as negotiations continue over a new contract at Camp Nou.

His agent, the former Barça player Ivan de la Peña, will sit down with the club's sporting director Mateu Alemany to resume talks.

Gavi, who has emerged as an important player for the first team this season, has a contract with Barça until 2023 and the club want to tie him down to longer terms as soon as possible.

The 17-year-old's current deal is no longer fitting of his status at the club considering he has played 43 times in all competitions this season, scoring twice and assisting six goals.

Barça have slowly been working on new contracts for their young stars this season. Pedri and Ansu Fati were the first and then Ronal Araujo, with Gavi's turn next.
