The centre-back spoke to Esport 3 about his future with Ajax

Matthijs de Ligt has been speaking about his future during the international break, which he has spent with Ronald Koeman's Netherlands side. 

After the 3-2 Euro 2020 qualifying loss to Germany, he spoke to the journalist Marcelo Bechler for Esport Club on Esport 3. 

The centre-back, who said "any player would like to play" for Barcelona after Frenkie de Jong's move to Camp Nou was confirmed, was more careful with his comments this time. 

"My name comes out in the media but I'm focused on playing," he said. "I'm concentrating on that and there's nothing that worries me. That's the important thing." 

LANGUAGES 

Asked if he is learning any new languaged, De Ligt revealed he's "not studying Italian or Spanish" in reference to the interest from Juventus and Barça. 

In that sense, he added: "I have no preferences. It's what I have said, I am focused on Ajax and the national team, gaining experience. And I am really happy." 

NOISE 

The Ajax defender is aware that soon he will need to take the next step in his career. But he's also aware that until that day arrives, he wants to focus on what's in front of him: competing for the Eredivisie and a Champions League quarterfinal against Juventus.
