Inter have spoken about the clause on the Argentine striker's head

Giuseppe Marotta, Inter Milan's administrator said the club are expecting to have Lautaro Martinez this season if no side pays his 111 million euro release clause. The clause expires on July 7. After that Inter can sell him for whatever price suits.

In an interview with 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', Marotta explained: "It's hard to speak about Lautaro's future at the moment. But to him I say, stay focused on the present, there's a season that's restarting, objectives to reach, we can come out of this, the players should be the protagonists. On the club's side, there's no will to sell Lautaro, he's young, he's got a future and he's an important player for Conte. Although, of course, there's the clause."

ALTERNATIVES

The Inter chief knows he's a big target for Barca, but "maybe they have alternatives, I hope they don't pay the clause. And in the case he goes, in place of Lautaro a big player will come in, a top level player."

Marotta added: "On a European level in this market the true difficulty will not be buying but selling. We have no rush. I understand the desire for names but we have to wait to see all the leagues finish and the clubs can make plans for the future. In general we can say that Neymar type operations, where a team takes a player from another side, won't be seen for a few years."
