The Napoli centre-back wants to win trophies and doesn't have them at Napoli

Barcelona are looking at Kalidou Koulibaly, deciding if they want to bring in another centre-back beyond Andreas Christensen. The Napoli defender has a contract until 2023, and is interested in changing clubs after eight seasons at Napoli.

In an interview with Onze Mondial, the Senegalese defender said: “I will leave, but for the moment I am completely calm and well in Napoli. We will see what happens at the end of the season.”

He left his future wide open.

After forming in French football and joining Belgian side Genk, in 2014 he signed for Napoli.

“I did not imagine being here so long when I arrived. Above all because my first year was difficult, I was at the point of leaving. I had offers and I thought the directors would sell me, but they did not.”

He is poised to turn 31 in June and said: “There are many things I need to improve. I can be more aggressive, show more calm, more solidity with the team. The aspect in which I need to win most is with the team, I have to win trophies. Everyone speaks of me as a great defender but I have not won enough trophies.”
