Barça target Juan Foyth's exit clause will make him the most expensive right-back of the summer

Should Barça agree to pay a figure close to €42 million, the Argentine will become the most expensive right-back on the market in 2022/23

FC Barcelona know that, if they wish to reinforce the right-back position with the signing of Juan Foyth, Villarreal will ask for €42 million, his termination clause. With two weeks left until the end of the market, and with the Liga 2022/23 already underway, the groguet club will not easily part with a key member of their team.

If Barça agree to pay an amount close to the price tag, Foyth will become the most expensive right back of the summer. So far, Nahuel Molina (24, Atletico Madrid) and Neco Williams (21, Nottingham Forest) hold this privilege: they have cost, according to Transfermarkt, 20 million, less than half of what Villarreal is asking for the Argentine.

Djed Spence (21), for whom Tottenham paid 14.70 million euros to Middlesbrough, stand third among the most expensive right-wingbacks in the current market. Dodo (23, Fiorentina) is close behind with a price estimated at 14.5 million. All these figures are still much lower than those suggested by Castellón after the meeting this Tuesday of Juan Foyth's entourage, Claudio Curti, with Mateu Alemany.

On the left wing of the defence, however, there have been a few very prominent investments. But only Marc Cucurella (24 years old), who has left Brighton for Chelsea for 65.3 million, exceeds the 42 million of Foyth's clause. Nuno Mendes (age 20, PSG) and Oleksandr Zinchenko (age 25, Arsenal) are slightly below this amount. They were sold for 39 and 35 million, respectively.
