Barça target Filipe Luis: "I still haven't signed for anyone"
The left back has officially confirmed that he is leaving Atletico Madrid and look set to join Flamengo
Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis has officially bid farewell to Atletico Madrid this Sunday. Unlike Antoine Griezmann who had to make do with a short video on the club's official social media account, Filipe Luis was allowed to say goodbye from the comfort of the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
After eight seasons at Atletico, the defender feels now is the right time to move on. When asked if his next club would be Flamengo, he said: "I'm in advanced talks and in the next few days I'll make a decision. But today is about saying thank you."
He insisted that he hasn't signed anything with Flamengo yet.
"We've been negotiating and when I arrive in my country, we'll talk some more."
Filipe Luis didn't want to comment on interest from FC Barcelona. The left-back was mentioned as a possible alternative to Jordi Alba but ultimately the club decided to move onto other, younger targets.
