Barça target Bernardo Silva responds to the rumours surrounding his future

The Manchester City midfielder, a longtime Barça target, has spoken out, with rumours linking him to PSG and Barça

Bernardo Silva is one of those rare players that any coach would want to have in their ranks. The Portuguese midfielder has been on the agenda of FC Barcelona's transfer scheme all summer, and the previous windows as well. Xavi would love to have him, he believes the Portuguese will bring a big impact in 3/4th of the field with his mobility and goal-scoring skills, combined with a very good work ethic. But, for now, Manchester City will not make it easy for the Portuguese player to leave the club.

He remains an indispensable piece in Guardiola's scheme, played in practically every game in the last season, and did not miss any of the important fixtures. That is why the English champions would be unwilling to let go of the midfielder for anything less than 80 to 90 million euros unless the player makes it explicitly clear he wants to move, as it has been reported that Guardiola told Laporta in a recent event that he would not retain any player who wanted to leave.

As we recently reported in SPORT, Bernardo would welcome a move to Barça and he is seduced by both the city and Xavi's project. The Portuguese has also expressed his desire to be closer to home. After the first pre-season game with City against America in the United States, which his team won 2-1, the midfielder spoke out about his situation: "As long as I am a Manchester City player, I will give absolutely everything for this club," he said to 'Sky Sports'. A somewhat ambiguous phrase, but it makes it clear that he will never abandon the professionalism that has been one of the hallmarks of his career. Barça will be forced to meet the price set if they are to pry him away from the Manchester club.
