Barça striker Abel Ruiz finalising loan move to Sporting Lisbon
An 18-month deal is expected to be announced in the coming hours
Abel Ruiz is set to leave Barcelona in the coming days and join the Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon on an 18-month loan deal.
He will become the third player to leave the club this month, following the departures of Carles Aleña (Real Betis) and Jean-Clair Todibo (Schalke 04).
Ruiz, 19, played for Barça B on Sunday but is now finalising his move to Sporting, with negotiations ongoing throughout the last week.
The Spain U21 attacker will head to Portugal on loan until June 2021, with the clubs still negotiating how much the option to buy at the end -- and Barça's option to buy back -- will be.
Several clubs have asked about Ruiz in recent weeks. Valencia were among those interested in him but he has finally decided to opt for Sporting's offer.
