Barça started negotiations with Manchester United to sell Sergiño Dest

Player sales are now a priority at Barça, to clear up their wage bill to make room for new signings. Memphis is close to leaving for Juventus, and Sergiño Dest could leave before the market closes. Manchester United and Barça have already started the final negotiations for the sale of Dest and everything is on track. Although United are offering 17 million euros, the two clubs are evaluating various scenarios from a loan with a mandatory purchase clause to a direct sale. Barça are asking for 20 million euros.

Dest's departure will provide income for the arrival of the two full-backs that Xavi wants. The club has already told the player's entourage that they do not count on him and that his departure is being negotiated. The full-back was reluctant to leave, but in recent days has relented provided he goes to a Champions League team or a big club. United's option fits him because of his relationship with Ten Hag, though the English club also have other options. All parties are clear that he must leave quickly, lest the opportunity is missed.

Dest had offers in the past from Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Monaco. The London club may still go for a full-back in the last days of the market despite having renewed Azpilicueta.
