The youngster is one of the players with the most potential at the club at youth level

It’s been a magical week for Lamine Yamal (2007). The star of Barcelona’s youth academy debuted in the UEFA Youth League this week and he netted a brace in the league against Ebro in a 5-0 win for Oscar Lopez’s men.

With his goals, Lamine Yamal beat a record that Ansu Fati had previously held. He scored in the Division de Honor Juvenil at 15 years, 1 month and 28 days old, beating Ansu’s record of 15 years, 10 months and 8 days. It’s clear that Yamal has something special.

Oscar Lopez is not afraid of giving the youngster protagonism. He’s one of the few players of that age who has jumped directly to Juvenil A from Cadete A, skipping the Juvenil B step. The Ebro game was his first match as a starter at this level.
