The Barcelona squad was back in on Monday after a week off following the end of the La Liga season, which saw them miss out on the title to Real Madrid for the first time in three years.

The players gradually arrived at the training ground for obligatory Covid-19 tests ahead of a return to training on Tuesday. The swiftest visit was made by Lionel Messi, who wasn't even there for five minutes. Messi turned up at 17.00h and was gone less than five minutes later.

Quique Setien and his players now have their minds on the Champions League, with Napoli due at Camp Nou on Aug. 8 for the last 16 second leg. The first leg ended 1-1 in Italy in February.

Barça will be without the suspended Sergio Busquets and Arturo Vidal for that game, while Martin Braithwaite is also not registered for the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele, Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet, Antoine Griezmann and Ronald Araujo are all on their way back from injury problems.

Youngsters Ansu Fati and Riqui Puig are expected to be heavily involved in Europe after ending the season with the first team and not joining the B team for the promotion playoffs this week.
