Rafa Yuste and Mateu Alemany will make the trip in Barça's name this week

Barcelona president Joan Laporta will not travel to Doha in person to meet and negotiate with the Al Sadd hierarchy, according to TV3.

It had been speculated that Laporta would head to Qatar to close the deal because Al Sadd had requested he do so in order to finalise the appointment of Xavi Hernandez.

Per the journalist Xavi Torres, Laporta will not go to Doha after Tuesday's game in Kyiv. However, vice president Rafa Yuste and director of football Mateu Alemany will make the move to try and close Xavi's return to Camp Nou.

Remember that Al Sadd have voiced their discontent at Barça's negotiating tactics this week. Let's see if the conversation between the clubs will unblock the situation.
