Christensen and Ter Stegen are expected to join Barça this Monday, with up to 10 more arrivals expected on the 16th.

Still at a low ebb, but Xavi Hernandez is continuing to reassemble his squad to get the season underway again. After the disbandment of last November (Barça became the club most affected by the World Cup exodus with up to 17 called-up players), the coach gave the rest of the squad rest until 5th December.

On Monday, Marcos Alonso, Sergi Roberto, Bellerín and Iñaki Peña trained at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper's Camp 2. Franck Kessie and Ronald Araujo also dropped in, but they trained separately as they are still recovering from injuries.

In the case of the charrúa, the club decided to give him extra leave to disconnect for a few days after being part of the Uruguayan expedition in the World Cup and being in the middle of a crossfire between Barça and the AUF.

As we commented in SPORT, he is spending a few days in Punta del Este, a very busy holiday destination in the South American country.

On Monday two new players will join the training sessions. Marc-André Ter Stegen and Andreas Christensen.

Both were eliminated in the group stage, ending their World Cup journey on 1 December and 30 November respectively. The German did not play a single minute, with Neuer starting all games.

Germany went home in the group stage for the second World Cup in a row. Denmark also failed to reach the Round of 16. Australia got the better of them.

The bulk of the squad will return on Friday, December 16. In principle, the Spaniards (Gavi, Pedri, Balde, Busquets, Jordi Alba, Eric, Ferran and Ansu), Lewandowski and Araujo.

Poland and Spain fell in the Round of 16.
