Barça player ratings: Rakitic and Riqui Puig star off the bench
The two midfielders swung the game in Barcelona's favour against Athletic
Ivan Rakitic's second-half goal off the bench was enough to give Barcelona three points against Athletic Club at Camp Nou on Tuesday.

Spent more time out than in the area. Athletic didn't create any real problems for him. He must have got bored.
Nelson Semedo 4
Pushed forward but wasn't decisive. Was like he was playing at half gas.
Gerard Pique 6
Athletic didn't generate much to worry him and he was well-positioned throughout. Pushed for a goal in the second half.
Clement Lenglet 6
Did his job, taking the necessary measures to keep Athletic out and build from the back.
Jordi Alba 6
Helped his teammates on the left and did what was necessary in defence. Created a couple of chances.
Sergio Busquets 6
Pressed really well and was always available for a pass. Booked so will be suspended this weekend.
Arturo Vidal 6
Executed his usual hard work in the middle, working hard and cutting balls out, although was unable to contribute in attack this time.
Lionel Messi 7
When he's on the ball, things nearly always happen leading to goals. His teammates look for him and he looks for them. Plugged in from the start and was involved in Rakitic's goal.
Luis Suarez 7
The Uruguayan has now started two games in a row as he looks to return to full fitness following a knee injury.

Tried to help. Still isolated on his own and the ball never arrives. Or rarely.

Muy atento el alemán. Se pasó más rato fuera del área que dentro. El Athletic no le llegó y estuvo como un vígia controlando desde su torre. Se aburrió un poco.
Se animó a hacer alguna excursión pero sin ser decisivo. Jugó un poco a medio gas. Cumpliendo tareas pero sin penetrar demasiado en el ataque de los leones. Se complicó en algunas ocasiones.
En defensa muy 'mirón', los jugadores del Athletic no le pusieron en problemas e intentó ser puntal del equipo en el ataque. Tenía ganas de marcar en la primera mitad pero guardó muy bien la posición en la segunda.
Puro oficio del francés. Tomando medidas y sin cansarse mucho el central del Barça el central tiró de experiencia para no dejar pasar a los pocos jugadores del Athletic que se acercaron por su zona.
El lateral del Barça apoyó a sus compañeros de la zaga y a lo que hiciera falta. Actitud total del defensa que intentó hacer algo en ataque pero no logró penetrar.
El centrocampista del Barça destacó en la presión tanto en la que ejerció él como cuando fue el receptor por parte de los jugadores del Athletic que no le dejaron descansar.
Puso su garra habitual en el centro del campo, cortó balones pero no pudo sumar mucho en la creación del juego. Se atascó pero como siempre impecable en su actitud.
Trató de mover el balón pero no logró salirse con la suya en muchas ocasiones. Jugó con criterio e idea.
Cuando la tocó Leo pasaron cosas en el campo aunque ninguna terminó en gol. Sus compañeros le buscaron y el buscó a sus compañeros. Enchufado pero sin poder romper la defensa, lo intentó todo hasta encontrar la pared con Rakitic.
Muy suelto el uruguayo. Parece que la nueva rodilla tiene movilidad. Sacrificado para romper las líneas del Athletic. Se le ha visto muy suelto. Se adapta a todo, a las buenas y a las malas.
Trató de ayudar pero poco hizo el francés. Sigue en su isla particular e intentó ayudar sin balón pero con el esférico fue distinto. No le salió nada.
Salió desde el banquillo y sumó un tanto que permitió abrir el electrónico. Se desquitó con un gol de su flojo arranque de temporada.
Puso velocidad e imaginación al partido. Algo que echó de menos el Barça en la primera mitad.
Entró y cambió la velocidad en el centro del campo al pisar el césped. Pases imaginativos y sin pérdidas. Se ganó que se le vea más a menudo.
Entró tarde y poco hizo.
