The club believe the teenage midfielder has a big future

Barcelona have learned their lesson and want to make a statement. The name in question is Ilaix Moriba, one of the stars of La Masia and the club believe he has first team potential. For that reason, they have made a huge sporting and financial offer to the player and are optimistic of tying him down.

Last Monday, we revealed taht Barça had sent the offer to the player's people. After analysing it, they send a counter-offer back which they are hoping will be approved. If it is, it's just a case of finding a time and date to announce the midfielder's renewal.

If Barça get Ilaix to sign, the big loser will be Manchester City. The English side have been chasing him for ages and hope to close a deal on Jan. 20, on Jan. 19 he will turn 19. This change of direction will catch City out, who believed the deal was done. They weren't even thinking about losing the youngster.

The other team to move for Ilaix is Juventus, who offered more than anyone else. Barça, aware of the other proposals, have also increased their offer in a bid to keep him.

An agreement is still not closed, though, and movement is expected this week. Ilaix and his people wanted everything sorted as soon as possible but there are still a few days to run yet...
